Acclaimed author and Philly denizen Jennifer Weiner (pronounced "Winer," not "Weener"!), author of Good in Bed and In Her Shoes has a new novel, Best Friends Forever, coming out tomorrow (July 14).

Last Friday, we mentioned that friend-of-Phillyist Chris Illuminati was competing in the semifinals of Broken Pencil's Indie Writers Deathmatch 2009. Thanks, no doubt, to many of you, Chris managed to advance in the finals, securing his place by a single vote. Said final round ends at midnight on Sunday, so take a few seconds to support Chris (who's currently trailing 48% to 52%). Remember: you're allowed to vote once an hour, so set yourself a timer and vote often. Because, after all, you've gotta support the home team.
