Our very own state could actually be of key importance in the Democratic presidential primary, so the campaigns for both Clinton and Obama will be opening offices in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh in the coming days, and expanding their staff by recruiting local pros. The Inquirer takes a look at the battle going on over a proposed state-wide ban on smoking in Pennsylvania. A woman leaped from her third-floor apartment window on South Street near 2nd......

Is N.Y.P.D. Pizza on South 11th Street across from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital going to be the next pizzeria to face the wrath of the New York City Police Department? Perhaps, given the fact that a similarly named chain of pizzerias based in Orlando has incurred the wrath of New York’s Finest and is getting sued for having a logo that is a doppelganger for the NYPD logo and selling faux-NYPD gear - all......

As you've no doubt heard (and several times by now), Thomas Jefferson University plans to sell "The Gross Clinic," a painting by local artist Thomas Eakins, to the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Arkansas for a not-so-inconsiderable sum of money. WHYY's local radio......

Philly cops are being bad again, and sometimes on video. First we've got a narcotics lieutenant who crashed into a car while driving a city vehicle drunk; he could lose his job. Also, the Daily News let's us know that a Philly policeman was caught drag racing in a police vehicle on YouTube - we tracked down the video here. If you know the identity of the racing officer, or anything else about the incident,......

Time to give another ballplayer the title of “Fighting Phil.” Centerfielder Aaron Rowand made a bang up catch in last night’s Phillies game – literally. He bashed his face into the center field railing, saving what could have been a triple in last night’s 2-0 win over the New York Mets. You gotta love a guy who breaks his nose to save a game. What you don’t gotta love is that padding for that......
