This weekend, artists in the City of Brotherly Love will begin a series of benefit events for victims of Hurricane Katrina. The Fringe Festival Cabaret will host the first event, a FREE show featuring Fringe favorites the Brothers Suggarillo with Dito van Reigersberg, Dirty Diamond, Rich Wexler, BINGO, Lidia Kaminska, and more.
We’re totally jazzed about the Live Arts and Fringe Festivals, but if we started listing PLAF shows, we’d never get the rest of these listings to ya’ll. Since the weather has granted the city a slight reprieve from the here-to-fore suffocating humidity, Phillyist braved the alien concepts of "sunshine" and "fresh air" to take a jaunt through Old City, where we were delightfully reminded that the Philly Fringe often spills out into the streets.
Phillyist will be talking a lot about the Philadelphia Live Arts and Philadelphia Fringe Festivals over the next coming weeks, and if we tried to give each of those plays an individual listing, you’d be reading this until one week from next Tuesday.
