The best of the internet, squirted out in flavorful neon globules, just for you. Japanese magazine Famitsu has given Super Smash Bros. Brawl a rare perfect 40/40 review score. Seems like a good sign! Yesterday was the latest big tech event, after CES: MacWorld 2008. Nerd World sums up the whole thing in one post, but Shiny Shiny has lots of coverage, including posts about upgrades to Apple TV and the official announcement of movie......

A steaming hot pile of our favorite things from around the internets. Rumor is there might be a Battlestar Galactica movie in the works - based on the original series. Oh...okay. Well. That...might be fun, we guess... Another cool poster for Grindhouse has been released. April can't come soon enough! Sony's Blu-ray edition of The Descent doesn't play in ordinary Sony Blu-ray players - you just get a blank screen - although interestingly enough, it......

The best of the internet, squirted out in flavorful neon globules, just for you. Heh. Lois Lane is a total whore. So what's the first thing aliens will see when they inevitably approach Earth, curious to discover what type of creatures inhabit this tiny blue planet in the middle of nowhere? The smiling face of Colonel Sanders, that's what! That's right, KFC is now the proud owner of the first logo visible from outer space......

You're probably about ready for us to stop talking about the Philadelphia Film Festival now, and indeed that trolley has pretty much pulled out of town, but we thought we'd throw in just one more post, this time discussing the festival's final statistics and awards. You can find the complete list of award-winners on the festival home page, and detailed audience ballot results here. The stats suggest that the festival was more crowd-pleasing than......

What's new and/or interesting in Philly theaters this weekend. Most Likely to Rule: A Night of Crawling Terror! w/Squirm and The Boogens - Another wonderful double feature of cheesy B-movies courtesy of the folks at Exhumed Films. When Phillyist saw Squirm a few years ago, it was as part of an episode of one of our most beloved (and sadly now twice cancelled) TV shows, the movie-lampooning program "Mystery Science Theater 3000." So you know......

The shapeless dough of the internet, formed into tasty pellets and baked to perfection, just for you. Man, Japan gets all the coolest stuff. Case in point: Super Mario stamps, already available for pre-order in Nippon. But when do we get ours?? (Via) List time again, folks. Today it's the 50 Greatest Independent Films, from Empire Online. It's a pretty strong list with a lot of truly great movies on it - we're pretty pleased.......

Well, it's official, folks: we're going to have a citywide wi-fi hotspot! (Phillyist gets a tingle just typing that.) The deal between internet service provider EarthLink and non-profit Wireless Philadelphia (created by Mayor Street to oversee the plan) has been signed, and we are go. Now EarthLink just needs to install about 4,000 transmitters on various lightpoles. Don't worry, there will be no cost to city taxpayers...although we're not sure how that's going to......
