A couple months back, we told you about tickets going on sale for this year's XPoNential Music Festival. So did you get tickets? No? Well why the heck not? XPoNential kicks off tomorrow evening, and there is a ton of music worth catching, so it's time get moving and get your tickets—which are an absolute steal at $25 per day or $60 for a pass to all three days (with a discount for WXPN members). The event will feature 25 acts, plus a crafts village with vendors selling their handmade wares, and a Village Green where festival-goers can learn about sustainable and eco-friendly products that are the forefront of the Delaware Valley's green scene.

           

We've always liked Weezer (MySpace) a lot, but never considered them one of our absolute favorite bands. This is largely because, with the exception of the Blue Album, there's quite a bit of inconsistency in their releases. The albums tend to have three or four killer tracks, two or three pretty good songs, and three or four complete throwaways. But we were cautiously optimistic about Saturday's Weezer show at the Susquehanna Bank Center, because we figured there was a possibility that the setlist would include most of the band's standout songs and keep the throwaways to a minimum.

that's just... too much.

What's new and/or interesting on TV this week. Paranormal State (Mon, 10PM-11PM, A&E) - The debut of a new reality show featuring members of Penn State University's Paranormal Research Society investigating reports of paranormal phenomena. During this hour, they seem to be playing two episodes, one about a boy who can supposedly see dead people, and another about a supposedly haunted house where murders were committed. Last night, I was at the Trocadero to see MGMT and what they’re all about. What I can tell you, amigos, is that these gangly dudes put out pure, unadulterated funk. The first song that I heard in its entirety was "Electric Feel." These are my thoughts, in retroactive real time, regarding what was going on in front of me:
