At this point, I guess most of you readers out there know that I don't eat to live – I live to eat. So it stands to reason that I've had a few dining experiences this year that have been especially memorable. Some of them appeared on Phillyist, and others did not. But gourmets and gourmands alike rejoice: they're all here, in all their mouth drooling glory.

Hotel Lights and Ben Folds Five - hey, remember Ben Folds Five? That was a cool band...) and Clint, Michigan with Amy Bezunartea.

Ever been in one of those moods where every song sounds like a love song? That's the mood we're in and we're lucky because tonight Stars are playing at the Troc. And with Stars, every song is a love song, or at least a contemplation of love, be it the joyous happy side or the jealous underbelly. Touring in support of their latest release, In Our Bedroom After the War, the Canadians have taken their thoughtful pop sounds into a realm that could only be described as epic.

We can't say we're entirely proud of ourselves for this, but we have to admit we're totally loving Black Fingernails, Red Wine, the third album and latest release from Australian trio Eskimo Joe (MySpace). Sure, it's pop. But it's also totally fun (one might even say irresistible), infectious, danceable pop rock with a New Wave (sometimes almost Depeche Mode-ish) flavor, and a piano often tinkling in the background. Week two of DanceBOOM! at the Wilma kicked off on Broad Street in a big way with the N.E. Frankford Boys and Girls Club, American Legion Post 224 Drill Team and Nicetown Stars Dance Team. The Nicetown girls were adorable, and the drill team was really impressive in their precision. (It was lots of fun to watch terrified people try to figure out how to walk past without getting trampled, too.) None of the performers in either group of the pre-show were over eighteen, so it would be unfair of me to give any real criticism to the groups, but I'm certainly glad that I arrived at the Wilma early enough to see them.

The nicer the weather gets, the busier we get across the Ist-A-Verse. But we like being busy. Here's a peek at what we've been up to since last week!

A Quirky Column about Dog Walking Adventures in the City of Dog-Owning Love

What's new and/or interesting in Philly theaters this weekend.

We always get a little sad when the main classical music season ends and all the musicians go to their fun summer festivals. But, this can only mean that the Mann Center's season is just around the corner!

Last night, Ropeadope Digital celebrated its launch at the World Cafe Live. The evening was made up of performances by BurnDown All Stars, Electric City, and Aunt Jessica. And a duo of painters who kinda hung out in the corner of the stage for most of the evening with some canvas. I didn't quite get it, but, nonetheless, there were painters in the corner. Yeah.

Started in 1999 as a collective underground effort to launch DJ Logic, Ropeadope is an online clothing company, indie record label and news source. Tonight, at the World Cafe Live, the launch of Ropeadope Digital, an exclusive label imprint, is being celebrated with performances by BurnDown All Stars, Electric City, and Aunt Jessica.

We know, it's snowing (or something like it) and yes it's still April, but we have a great band for you to go see tonight. Some of you won't want to venture out tonight, but we definitely think it will be worth it. Screw the snow/slush/rain and come out tonight to see the Headlights perform in the middle of two other bands, Page France and The Trolleyvox. All three bands are a mix of infallible...

...WTF: There are no words... (Via The Superficial. It was in Whiz earlier this week, but it bears repeating. And seriously, if you only click on one link in this week's round-up, make this the one.)

A church isn’t the first place that comes to mind when thinking of indie concert venues. However, the First Unitarian Church proved to be a wonderfully mellow venue for the Tall Firs and Emily Haines and the Soft Skeleton. With the altar pushed to a back corner of the stage and the audience calmly seated in pews, the setting provided an intimate, contemplative, and serene atmosphere for the bands to come.
