Spring Training is all but finished, and that local sports team heads back to Philly to open the season on April 2 (that's Monday, folks). If you're keeping track though, you'll need to get in on your office fantasy baseball pool before that. Unless you do the second half only season, which is just silly.

This is going to be a short update for the weekly blog roundup. Why? It's because everyone and their mother is at South by Southwest, drunker than Ted Kennedy on nickel night. Oh and most bloggers are writing about who they met and how drunk they got, not about the music (isn't the music the POINT of going in the first place?) Jim McGuinn and XPN are doing a good job though with their web coverage and live broadcasts, but that's about it.

Everyone’s nervous about parking their car in dodgy areas regardless of whether we’re driving a new Jaguar or an early 90’s Crown Victoria like Phillyist does. The truth of the matter is, however, that owners of older cars are in more danger of getting their cars stolen for a vast number of reasons, but that’s not what this is about. This is about where car theft in Philadelphia ranks among major metropolitan areas throughout the country. According to the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) we’re doing pretty well, but not that well.

The Jersey shore has been the summer hotspot for Philadelphians for decades. Like many other Philly residents, Phillyist's summers were spent in Sea Isle City since before we could utter any comprehensible words. Burying our mom in the sand, our brother throwing jellyfish at us (the memory haunts us to this day), fishing on the jetties with our Dad, making drip castles with new friends on the beach; the memories are endless.
