I'd just like to say that there are other ways of conveying distress than hysterical crying, and that there are other ways of conveying fear than heavy breathing and uncontrollable pacing. I needed to get that out there because it seems to be a memo that a lot of people miss. And missing that memo can ruin what would otherwise be a really good play.

is InterAct Theatre Company's contribution to the first-ever Philadelphia New Play Festival, and it was a wise choice. Set in Philadelphia, it's a play that will make you squirm with "white liberal guilt," laugh inappropriately, and possibly even reevaluate a few things you thought you believed. Over the course of two hours, I couldn't make up my mind about the issues at hand. It's one of those cases where everyone has a point.

presents us with an interesting question: if you could predetermine that your child would be born with a developmental disorder, how far would you go to prevent it?
