This was the one show of the year I went to strictly on a friend's recommendation, having never heard of the band. It was worth it. Bradford Cox's creepy demeanor only adds to the show. The droning guitars and heavy drums created a melancholy, fugue-like state that I'd gladly return to next time Deerhunter is in town. There's nothing like going to a concert and leaving feeling like you've just been mindfucked.

When we saw Jenny Lewis having dinner at Ly Michaels before her show at the Troc, we had to resist the urge to fold her up and try to squeeze her in our oversized bag. So. Damned. Cute.

This Phillyist hearts Rilo Kiley. Jenny Lewis is our long-standing girl crush. So we're pumped for tonight, when they'll be at the Tower Theatre, touring after their new album, Under the Blacklight.

While everyone else was writing about this yesterday, I was too busy working [read: getting a tattoo of Barbaro on my shoulder while listening to Bad Brains].
