A piece of musical history will take the stage tonight at the Tower Theatre in Upper Darby when Ray Davies, founding member (along with his brother Dave) of the hugely influential British rock band the Kinks, comes out to perform. Unfortunately, Mr. Davies is sounding a bit like a piece of history, too, on his latest CD Other People's Lives. It's not a bad disc, really; there are some catchy pop rock tracks on it, like the opener, "Things Are Gonna Change (The Morning After)," and the interesting "Stand Up Comic." But then there are rather irritating and silly tracks like "Is There Life After Breakfast?" Plus, the album as a whole just sounds a bit tired and old-fashioned, and overstays its welcome at 13 tracks and a full hour in length.
