In case you hadn't noticed, Elite -ist, once a daily feature, has been coming bi-weekly at best these days. As such, the writer has decided that her efforts are best applied elsewhere. No worries! She'll still be making fun of your bad manners and telling you about all the theatre listings in the area. But Elite -ist is no more. Miss your rundown of all things -ist? No fear! Check the weekly all-ist rundown every weekend. Bonus: Ms. Elite -ist herself is at the editing helm every other week.
This just in from the building manager at Phillyist HQ (with some copy-editing from the editorial board):
We here at Phillyist HQ (secreted, naturally, deep in the bowels of the city, possibly beneath the swaying ramps of Lincoln Financial, or perhaps below the old Water Works - but definitely somwhere close to free Wi Fi and an ample supply of cheese steaks and scrapple) often pose questions of extreme unimportance to one another - such as "Who has the best grilled cheese in the city?", "Why isn't it five o'clock yet?" and "Exactly how many more posts do I have to compose before you'll let me see my family again?" We have realized, in the course of these ponderings, that we don't know all that much - but it occurs to us that you, our both gentle and acerbic readers, probably know quite a bit.
We've been having the damnedest time trying to post this for you, dear readers. But we couldn't let it slide. Not this time. That's how much we care -- about you and our sister sites.
If you've been reading anything by this Phillyist editor, you know that she's been in the process of moving over the last few weeks. While in between apartments, Phillyist HQ has been temporarily located at the apartment of a friend.
We were worried that, since we didn’t have time to write a preview for Friday’s Of Montreal show at First Unitarian Church, nobody would come see one of our absolute favorite indie bands.
