Hey photobugs, are you ready for Phillyist Framed 2010? Well, here's your heads up. Our wildly successful photography competition is back for another go-round in January. We'll see you back at Studio 34 in West Philly with more of everything. More entries, more judges, more fun! Starting next week we're going to ask you to submit your best Photoist-type creations for a chance to exhibit at a week-long gallery show. (Yes, you will be able to price and sell your work!) Plus, this year our special guest judges will be selecting 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.

We're thrilled (and slightly relieved) to report the success of Friday's gallery opening, ! (If you're not sure what we're talking about, refer back to our original request for entries.) Our winning photographers rose to the challenge and supplied 24 beautifully framed pieces for the walls of Studio 34. They also did a great job promoting their show and bringing their friends, especially Cecil, who led a serious entourage. Total attendance was over 100 people.
Friday may be the sexiest day of the week. It's foreplay. It's all about anticipation. What's coming next?
In April we invited all of our readers to submit their photos for the first Phillyist Framed photography contest and show. The event opens tomorrow night at Studio 34, and after months of preparation, we're down to the final details.
In April we called on our readers to submit their photos for the inaugural Phillyist Framed photography contest and show. The people at Studio 34 Yoga, the Phillyist staff, and of course, the selected winners have been busy organizing the event and turning digital camera files into professionally-framed prints.
Maybe there are some talented photographers out there who missed our previous entries about our Phillyist Framed photography show. For those who are unaware: we're putting on a show at Studio 34 that will give our readers a chance to show their photos in a gallery setting.

Perhaps you've seen our previous posts about Phillyist Framed 2008, a show we're throwing with Studio 34 Yoga that'll give you a chance to have your photos displayed in a gallery. Since entries are due by the end of the day on Wednesday, May 21, we wanted to post a quick reminder to submit your photos.
Here are the rules. Let's see your best work!
We see photographers around the city all the time, our Photoist posts are always impressive, and the Phillyist Flickr Photo Pool has thousands of shots. So we know you're out there, and you've probably got a photo that you really love, sitting under-appreciated on your hard drive. You need a chance to show it off. Which is why we're putting on the 2008 Phillyist Framed Photography Show, a chance to display your photography in a gallery setting. We want to see your work off the screen and on the walls at Studio 34 Yoga.
Click over to this rules post to find out how to enter. Entry is completely free!
We're also extremely pleased to announce the judges who will be selecting the contest winners from the entry pool. In addition to yours truly, your shots will be scoped by the insanely-talented JJ Tiziou (JJ Tiziou Photography) and Brad Maule (phillyskyline.com).
We're looking forward to an awesome night! Help make it even better by getting your entries in before the May 21 deadline.
Think you have what it takes to be a renowned photographer? Always wanted to display your photos, but never had a place to do it? Maybe you're not quite ambitious, but you've got one killer shot that you're sure could stand with the best of them?
We at Phillyist have been impressed with your Photoist entries, so we want to give you a chance to display your photography in a more formal gallery setting. Here's where Studio 34 Yoga comes in. The new West Philadelphia business includes creative arts as part of its overall wellness goal and has graciously partnered with us to display your photography in the 2008 Phillyist Framed photography show.
The opening night event will be on June 27, from 7-9 PM, and your work will be on display for about a month after that. We're fired up for what we know will be an awesome show.
There will be frequent update posts from now until opening night, including the selections for live entertainment and photography judges, but we're ready to accept your entries right away! So click through to the continuation to read the rules and instructions for submission.
