Philly Improv Theater's June lineup continues tonight at The Actors Center (257 North 3rd Street). The college showcase opens at 8 PM, when two Penn State troupes—"Full Ammo" and "Your Ex-Boyfriend's Improv"—take the stage. "m@&" (Matt Holmes of Rare Bird Show) then defends his CAGEMATCH title at 10 PM, when he selects a random audience member to join him in a 30-minute longform improv act. "Mr. Lizard" will be the challenger. Both the 8:00 and 10:00 performances cost $5.

Doug Benson (Best Week Ever, Last Comic Standing, Marijuana-Logues, Doug Benson's I Love Movies) took a joke from his stand-up act about Morgan Spurlock’s documentary, Super Size Me and made it into his own movie called, wait for it, Super High Me.

Normally we could start this post with some quip about chasing off the winter doldrums with some laughter. But seeing as how the mercury is riding high today, and should be for a while, we got nothing. That’s why we’re not comedians. Luckily, there are some very talented folks who are, and they are presenting a 5-day smorgasbord of improv and sketch comedy goodness for your gluttonous consumption.
