Even though Joey Sweeney's dissed us once or twice, we've remained relatively mum on Philebrity, and plan to remain so. Except for the fact that we run a weekly feature here called "Proofreading Philly," and, well, we can't ignore poorly-edited content, now can we?

You're all probably familiar with Miss Bee by now. She's a frequent commenter on Phillyist who heard our call for new writers and was quick to answer it, so we couldn't help but upgrade her posting privileges. Born in Philadelphia, Miss Bee has lived here most of her life, with a few quick hiatuses that we forgive her for. She likes Butterscotch Krimpets, is baffled by SEPTA behavior, and will be trying out for the Eagles Cheerleading squad for the sole purpose of "moral support" for a friend. Welcome, Jen!

Walking through the other day, we caught a couple of guys on boards jumping off one of the high planters, and wondered if they knew about the ban (a surprising number of people don't, but a bigger number just don't care), or about the very cool Paine's Park Project.

Philebrity applauded the installation of solar panels at the Philadelphia Naval Yard while simultaneously making fun of Naval Yard denizen Urban Outfitters. Maybe next we'll get some windmills. We know of a few places to put them where there's plenty of hot air being blown about.
