The Liberty Bell Forever stamp was released, complete with a speech next to the actual Liberty Bell, yesterday morning. A North Jersey business immediately bought 24,000 of them for a direct-mail program. It's apparently a bit of a big deal that PA Rep. Joe Sestak showed up to speak to the Philadelphia chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations at the Hilton Philadelphia Saturday night. Pennsylvania is widely known as the Quaker State. In an obvious homage to the Quakers who came here to flee persecution, Pennsylvania lawmakers plan to introduce a state constitutional marriage amendment next week. The amendment would define marriage as being only between one woman and one man, as well as prevent recognition from same sex marriages from other states and, if we're not mistaken, commonlaw marraige would be outlawed.
