Ladies and Gentlemen... Mr. Greg Wood.

The shapeless dough of the internet, formed into tasty pellets and baked to perfection, just for you.

The best of the internet, chopped into tiny bits and grilled for your enjoyment. Filter has released their list of the overall Top Ten Albums of 2007, as well as a bunch of supplementary top 10 albums by their staff. Mostly unsurprising indie rock of the moment picks, but some interesting stuff. And hey these remind us of other lists we've seen lately... (Via Samantha) We couldn't care less about the upcoming reality show Clash...

With unseasonable weather descending upon much of North America, schools getting ready to reconvene, and sports seasons getting exciting, it's a busy time of year for us here in the Ist-A-Verse. Luckily, even with all the things we have to do, we still managed to get together to let you know what we've all been up to.

UPDATE: Digg this, please!

Chicagoist is gearing up for this weekend's annual Air & Water Show along the lakefront. In what's becoming an annual tradition around there, staff member Todd McClamroch even got to fly with one of the participants. Chicagoist's decidedly opinionated readership was also appalled that one of their staffers found a popular local brewpub to be a great place to bring a kid. They also think that an unlikely activist for immigration rights should just take her medicine and offered their own suggestions to how the city should capitalize on the local music scene. And everyone thinks that a suggested tax on bottled water is a great idea.

Remember how we told you in this morning's news post that M. Night Shyamalan is shooting his new movie, The Happening, at 30th Street Station this week? Well, we just got some photos from yesterday's shoot! These were taken by a generous fan named Amy Sawhill, and came our way via a mutual friend (thanks, Heather!). There's one pic here to whet your appetite, then plenty more after the jump. Enjoy!

  • The FBI is looking for a filthy dude in connection with the robbery yesterday of the Trumark Financial Credit Union at 1811 John F. Kennedy Blvd. He's a black man in his 30s "who was wearing sunglasses, a dirty gray suit jacket and dirty white sneakers." He got away with some cash - and a dye pack, which was later found exploded at a train concourse at 17th and JFK.
  • A 16-year-old has been arrested in the case of the teen who was killed for his dirt bike. The suspect will be charged as an adult with murder and robbery. Help from the community led to the arrest.

I'm one of those people who likes M. Night Shyamalan's stuff, and not just because he comes from around here, and makes all his movies here (although that's very nice). I like his films because, even when they're ultimately not that good, they still have brilliance and greatness in them. I defy anyone to tell me the man is not a talented filmmaker. He can compose beautiful images and tell a story with them like nobody's business.

What's new and/or interesting at Philly theaters this weekend:

John Street is talking down men from ledges. Al Gore is visiting the city and people aren't making a billion Al Gore/Internet jokes. There were no posts on the Sixers/Knicks preseason tilt. It's been a bizarre week for Philadelphia and the blogosphere. And yet, we're still doing our weekly round-up. Comforting? No. Worth a few lines for a rushed intro? Definitely.

Philly has been all happy-like because M. Night Shyamalan is back in town, his new film, Lady in the Water, set to begin filming on Monday.
