Anatomy of Failure: The Eagles Playoff Loss as Lived Through Text Messages

Misery loves company. Like so many of you, I watched the Eagles' debacle disappointment epic fail yesterday against the Cardinals at a bar with a number of friends close at hand. At least we suffered together. And I even suffered with those who weren't there because they were at other bars or wherever, thanks to the glory of text messaging. And so, as my farewell to the Eagles, at least until they find a way to piss me off on Draft Weekend, I present to you my Eagles-Cardinals recap, as summed up through text messages.

"Dayenu" is a song traditionally sung at Passover. Its title translates, roughly, to "It would have been enough." And all we can say about yesterday's game is that if the Eagles turned in more plays like this one, well, "dayenu."

We love that people are writing their own fight songs.*

Ten Reasons to Hate Arizona

Most of the national hype about this weekend’s Conference Championship Games has been about the Steelers and the Ravens, and understandably so. There’s nothing like two division rivals meeting in the playoffs with a championship bid on the line. Think Yankees-Red Sox ALCS games or Flyers-Penguins Eastern Conference Finals. It’s simply the highest of high drama punctuated by vitriol and hatred built up over an entire regular season or, in some cases, whole generations.

The Eagles defeated the New York Giants 23-11 to advance to next week's NFC Championship Game against the Arizona Cardinals. This will be the fifth NFC Championship Game appearance for Andy Reid and Donovan McNabb. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. next Sunday. Go Eagles!
