Authorities yesterday released an enhanced video that may show the man who robbed and shot aspiring teacher and Starbucks employee Beau Zabel. Click through to view the video, and certainly contact police if you think you can identify the suspect.
Yesterday, a municipal court judge reduced the charges and bail of 17-year-old Zahir Boddy-Johnson of North Philadelphia, who is accused of shooting a Philadelphia Housing Authority police officer last month. The victim of the shooting, his wife, and colleagues were outraged by the decision, and the District Attorney's Office said that it planned to re-arrest Boddy-Johnson on the attempted charges.
A 16-year-old has been arrested in the case of the teen who was killed for his dirt bike. The suspect will be charged as an adult with murder and robbery. Help from the community led to the arrest.
Neighbors of the Barnes Foundation, who were once all for it moving out of their neighborhood, are now joining county commissioners and Lower Merion Township in their efforts to stop it. Yet another lawsuit may soon be filed in a last ditch attempt to keep the Foundation where it is.
The Friends Center at 15th and Cherry is getting a $12.5-million green renovation that will free it of its reliance on fossil fuels. The renovation includes a vegetated roof - the largest such roof in Philadelphia, and the first in Center City.
