Over the weekend, I visited the King Tut exhibition at the Franklin Institute for the second time. (The first time also yielded a column.) The exhibit closes in a few days, so it's more crowded than it was when I went in March. That's to be expected. Unfortunately, large crowds breed bad behavior. You see it at airports; you see it at rock concerts; and surprisingly enough, you see it at museums. The King......

Imagine dusk in the Appalachian mountains - the crickets are chirping through the tall grass, the moist air wets your back as a cool breeze sweeps through the dense heat. It's finally that time. The time when friends and family congregate on the front porch for some cold drinks - iced tea, beer and maybe some whiskey - and best of all, live music. The sounds of the fiddle, banjo, guitar and bass will soon......

I've written before about parents who really need to keep their children in control on at least one occasion, but for every impolite or incompetent parent who doesn't know how to control his or her child(ren), there are probably a dozen other parents who do. There are also genuinely good children who don't usually need to be reigned in by their parents. I've recently made a fabulous new friend who has the most adorable six-month-old......

The restaurant will offer special dishes and drinks, inspired by traditional Egyptian cuisine, every evening until the exhibit completes its run on September 30. Created by chef and co-owner Michael McNally and Chef Ghita Belgout - who was......

What's new and/or interesting on TV this week. Antiques Roadshow (Mon; 8PM-9PM; PBS [WHYY]) - The final part of this show's three episode visit to Philly. This time they look at some paintings by John F. Kensett, a diamond ring, and some autographed baseballs. They also take a side trip to the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Digging for the Truth (Mon; 9PM-10PM; History Channel) - Appropriately enough, given the fact that the King......

As we mentioned a while back, King Tut is coming to town this weekend! Well, okay, maybe not the King himself, but a bunch of his coolest stuff will be on display at The Franklin Institute. Now that it's become clear that Tom Knox is doing exceedingly well, and has a great deal of money, a bill has been introduced to temporarily cancel the campaign contribution limits in order to even things out a......

What's interesting on TV this week. Alias (Mon; 9PM-11PM; ABC) - At long last, here's the final, two-hour long episode of "Alias." That's final as in last one ever, people. If you haven't watched in a while, like us, you might be curious to check this out, and yet you might also be harboring fears that you'd no longer have any idea what's going on. But fear not! The episode description says Sloane and Irina......
