Normally when Phillyist thinks of American Idol, we think of the likes of Kelly Clarkson and over-produced pop music. Season seven brought a little rock to the competition in the form of David Cook, whose gritty-but-pretty vocals and commercially popular cover versions of Michael Jackson's , among others, catapulted him to seemingly immediate stardom. This Friday, he'll be bringing his "Declaration" tour to the Keswick Theatre.

St. Patrick's Day is coming up in just a few short weeks, my friends, and what does that mean? Well, for one thing, pretty much any food or drink item you can think of, from bagels to cookies to beer, will now be available in a whimsical (and sometimes rather sickening) green color. For another, it means there's a ton of exciting Irish musicians coming to Philly and the surrounding area! Here's just a few of the upcoming Irish-flavored shows (oh, and uh, by the way...we sincerely apologize for the title of this post).
