We're kicking off a new regular feature today, and here it is! "Can't Miss This!" should be going up every weekday for the foreseeable future and, as you may have already guessed, it'll feature a handful of events going on that day in and around the city that we think are so cool you should make sure not to miss them. Hope you enjoy it!

We don't hear enough about experimental jazz up in this piece, so we thought we'd mention the upcoming show by Industrial Jazz Group, who aren't particularly industrial, but are very jazzy. They've added band members and widened their stylistic influences over the years to include many more genres, but from what we can tell have remained interesting. Check them out on their official website, their MySpace page, their blog, and/or their Cafe Press store (man, we dig that "mwahahaha" T-shirt), then, if they seem cool to you, head down to Chris's Jazz Cafe Wednesday night and check them out there when they play with Hopping John Orchestra. Because c'mon, admit it, you haven't got enough jazz in your life.

Phillyist has to admit, we had to gag our inner fan girl and stick her in the closet in order to compose this post. She's convinced if we put the word out that author Neil Gaiman (squueeeeee!) will be speaking at Temple University's Mitten Hall (1913 North Broad Street) at 8PM on Thursday as part of their Poet and Writers Series, that there would be a sort of fantasy lovers stampede that would prevent her from getting to see him speak. I assured her that there's likely enough Gaiman goodness to go around. For the love our comics, please don't prove us wrong.
