I like Jason Statham. I think he's a really talented guy. But let's face it, besides Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, he hasn't been in very many decent movies. Just look at his filmography: Transporter 2, that Uwe Boll Dungeon Siege thing, The One. Ugh. For that reason, I went into my screening of The Bank Job with pretty low expectations.

We can't say that sounds particularly exciting to us, but we could see how it might be fun. I climbed the stairs up to the Troc's tiny, crowded (though thankfully not smokey) balcony bar to catch a great metal show Saturday night, headlined by Clutch spin-off band The Bakerton Group. I've seen shows at the Troc before, of course, but never one up in the balcony, and I was surprised to find that the sound there, at least for this show, was absolutely fantastic - loud, crystal clear, and beautifully balanced. Kudos to the soundboard guy!
