This one comes straight from Ma Phillyist (aka Mamaist, aka Mommy, aka Mom, aka Mother, but only when I'm mad at her), who's been visiting the past few days. She's the one who always stressed the importance of manners to me. Elite -ist has been swamped at our day job lately. And you know how it goes: you get busy, you get stressed, you don't get to spend time with your friends and family. So we haven't had a chance to check out things out across the -ist-a-verse in a couple of days. But we're back now—no promises about tomorrow. Work is hard.

If conservatives are to be believed, Pennsylvania colleges and universities are a hotbed of liberal bias. Hundreds of students every year are ridiculed for their conservative beliefs, flunked for not being progressive, shunned for daring to vote Republican. The Pennsylvania State Senate formed an investigative committee to probe the insidious discrimination, and scheduled four hearings -- one was held at Temple University yesterday.
