The best of the internet, squirted out in flavorful neon globules, just for you. The cast of JLA has been chosen and locked and will finally be officially announced this week. Somebody named Lindsay Thompson, who's apparently in the new Incredible Hulk movie, has said on her blog that she thinks the trailer will debut during the Super Bowl. Seattlest watches as a S.L.U.T. is born and Seattle Flickr users go nuts over a local art installation. What's new and/or interesting on television this week.
Wizard World, a convention celebrating comic books, genre movies, and pretty much everything geeky you can think of, is hitting Philadelphia and taking over the Pennsylvania Convention Center this weekend, starting today (in fact, we walked past the line to get in this morning on our way to work). Featured guests are filmmaker (and comic book dude) Kevin Smith (who's giving an exclusive presentation on his upcoming Clerks 2) and comics artist/creator Jim Lee, not to mention the voice of General Grievous (Matthew Wood - okay, we're really kind of scraping the bottom of the barrel in terms of Star Wars talent here, aren't we?), a bunch of TNA wrestlers (wow, not even the top rung wrestling entertainment organization?), and the Incredible Hulk himself, Lou Ferrigno! Of course, for lots of attendants, the main draw will not be any human person (because who wants interaction with other living things anyway?), but rather the dealer rooms, which will no doubt be packed to bursting with overpriced geeky goodies. Regardless of why you go, enjoy yourselves in there, folks. And in brightest day, in darkest night, let no collectible escape your sight! (We kid the geeks, but it's okay, because we're one of you. Really we're just hurting ourselves here.)
