This is going to be a short update for the weekly blog roundup. Why? It's because everyone and their mother is at South by Southwest, drunker than Ted Kennedy on nickel night. Oh and most bloggers are writing about who they met and how drunk they got, not about the music (isn't the music the POINT of going in the first place?) Jim McGuinn and XPN are doing a good job though with their web coverage and live broadcasts, but that's about it.

Elite -ist is having some trouble compiling and editing itself right now because being homeless temporarily displaced means that there's no reliable internet connection. Well, there wasn't. But now there is. And so we bring you stuff our sister sites have been doing since last we met.
If Phillyist loves anything, it's Films that are Free. Therefore, it was with some sadness that we turned the calendar from muggy July to oppressive August, since the act indicated the free, outdoor summer movie showings were winding down. Lucky for us Scribe Video Center has got the late-summer outdoor movie hook-up.
The sky was bright and clear when we parked our posteriors on the steps on the Great Plaza at Penn's Landing for day 2 of their 20th Anniversary celebration. We were stationed right in front of the speakers, and realizing we'd never be able to manage conversation over "Master of the Twang Bar," Adrian Belew's performance, Phillyist turned to our friend and shouted, "It's really loud."
