Saturday played host to many things: Halloween, Phillies game, last show at the Spectrum, and even a Making Time/R5 Productions Halloween party sponsored, in part, by Philebrity.

It's Friday and I'm back. All Da Way Turnt Up for All Hallows' Eve. So smash your pumpkins and go crazy with Week 8's "turnt up" picks.

Fall-themed Martinis at Rum Bar

When Phillyist heard Rum Bar (2005 Walnut St.) was adding some new fall-themed martinis to their menu, we sent out our resident pumpkin junkies to investigate. Since we've heaped the love on Rum Bar in the past, Adam Kanter, owner/manager of Rum Bar, hooked us up with some samples so we could report back on how to get your fix of fall flavors in liquid form. (Sometimes chewing is just too much work!) With more than 140 varieties of rum and three levels of rum-flight programs for patrons to conquer (these guys do not mess around), we knew Rum Bar's fall drink offerings would not disappoint.

The film industry is clearly running scared of Halloween and Major League Baseball. Don't waste your time at the movies—nothing good to see there anyway. Trick-or-Treating, costume parties, and Phillies games rule this weekend.

I Have a Haunted Baby and Ten Spooky Dollars... Now What?

There is too much going on this weekend and it refused to be contained in one article. This week Phillyist is giving you twice the excitement with a double vision version of I Have A Baby And Ten Dollars.... While this article deals with events, concerts, plays, and such, take a look at this strictly trick-or-treating list we posted earlier today to ensure you get the biggest candy bang for your buck.

Phillyist Tricks and Treats

It's that wonderful time of year again.

Good Morning, Rippers.

How do you like your pin-ups? Beautifully deranged? Covered in blood? Deadly hot and just in time for Halloween? Damned if Charlie's Rippers aren't all of the above.

Phillyist Reviews... Haunted Poe

When I was thirteen, my friends and I went to a haunted maze at the mall. I was so annoyed by the end, with the predictable gimmicks and cheap thrills, that when Freddy Kreuger jumped out at me a few feet from the exit I may or may not have punched him in the face. (The statute of limitations on assault has passed by now, right?) That wasn't the only time time I'd found myself decidedly unimpressed, or even annoyed, by a haunted maze, so I'll admit that I was a bit skeptical about Brat Productions' Haunted Poe, a sort of theatrical house of horrors, all centered on the life and work of a little-known writer by the name of Edgar Allan Poe.

In October, many local theatre companies try to put on a Halloween-related production. Brat Productions' Haunted Poe is the one we're most excited for this season.

It’s time for PW's Music Issue, and they're loving on the blogs. Also, check out the top 100 Philly songs ("Love Train" will be in our heads All Day).

Ah, Halloween. Costumes, pumpkins, and tons and tons of sugar. You know it, Phillyist knows it, and Carnival Cruise Lines knows it. That's why they'll be spending some time in Philadelphia this Sunday trying to break the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest piñata. The big event will be happening at the intersection of Broad Street and Washington Avenue, moved from its previously-announced Center City location on the off chance that a certain Philadelphia team might be having itself a little victory parade that same day.
