Hello! Welcome to my gossip blog! It is wonderful that you chose to read me today. Good for you! Here’s what’s hot: Guess which young male heartthrob was seen snuggling with a famous male sports star while his wife and child waited at home? I am not going to tell you, that is between them and their families. Britney Spears was seen at the 50th Birthday party for fashionista Christan Audigier in LA this holiday......

Ross and I were invited down to Atlantic City this past weekend for a mini blogger meetup sponsored by the four Harrah's casinos there. I'll write more about that in this week's Return to Sender, but for now, I'm only mentioning it to set the scene. In all, there were ten of us in attendance. The two of us from Philly, two others from Chicago, and the balance from New York City. During dinner,......

It was obvious that 90% of the crowd was at The Trocadero the night of February 2 (yep, we are super late on this review) for one reason and one reason only: to see One Republic. The band, enjoying its recent success at the hands of The CW (their song "All We Are" was apparently played during a very pivotal moment during an episode of Gossip Girl) has such a big under-age following that The......

The saga of CBS 3’s Alycia Lane continues. She has been divorced twice, appeared on Dr. Phil, was romantically linked to WCBS anchor Chris Wragge, and of course infamously sent bikini photos to a married man. All of this seemed to make her one of the darlings of the New York Post’s Page Six column of late. So it is not a shock that she got into some trouble in New York, more specifically in......

You gotta wonder about Penn students (and alums too, as it turns out): they shoot up terrorists, steal panties, and now apparently they adopt other people’s identities and swindle them out of loads of cash. To be fair though, Drexel does share some part of the latter, seeing as one of the accused is still a student there. You all know what we’re talking about right? Because it’s in the friggin international news! So Philly......

This week, Phillyist saw the waters of a landmark fountain run red for a Showtime marketing stunt, the Phils pull ahead, and some serious nostalgia. They also got a chance to review an awesome tribute album, reminded folks to see the King, and appreciated their beautiful skyline. Chicagoist knows what it's like to like the Cubs. But naming your kid Wrigley Fields? At least they can breathe a little easier now that Grossman's out......

What's new and/or interesting on TV this week. Monday Night Football: Redskins at Eagles (Mon, 8:30PM-11:30PM, ABC & ESPN) - The Eagles have their first home game on a Monday night against a team they really should be able to beat. In fact, people are already calling this one a "must-win" game for the Eagles. We're trying to remain hopeful and confident... but last week's showing was pretty poor... What's new and/or interesting on TV this week. What Perez Says About the VMAs (Tue, 9PM-10PM, VH1) - Everyone's favorite internet celebrity gossip master turns his wit upon MTV's Video Music Awards. Moving from the internet to TV seems like a backwards step to us. Although of course we wouldn't turn down the offer of a Phillyist TV show if somebody wanted to help us make one... P.O.V. (Tue, 10PM-11:30PM, PBS [WHYY]) - The film......

Happy first weekend of September - and happy Labor Day weekend, too, for our American cities! Let's take a look at what's been happening around the Ist-a-verse. The deaths of two firefighters shook Bostonist this week. Boston's firefighters bent over backwards all week long - first, they fought flames pouring from the Boston Tea Party museum, and then a restaurant fire killed two and injured many more. Their efforts make everything else - like Tom......

We are dumbfounded as to why the New York Post’s Page Six gossip column has been following the saga of the love life of KYW’s Alycia Lane, but it has provided some odd entertainment since the spring. In case you don’t know, the tabloid broke the story of Lane sending e-mails containing bikini photos of herself to NFL Network anchor Rich Eisen which were intercepted by his wife, ABC Sports reporter Suzy Shuster. Yesterday, Page......

What's new and/or interesting on TV this week. Creature Comforts (Mon, 8PM-8:30PM, CBS) - A new US version of the popular UK show created by Wallace & Gromit's Nick Park. It involves clay, stop-motion animated animals sharing their opinions on life. Dear Philadelphia Arts Scene: Scarecrow, I think (when I eventually leave Philadelphia) I'll miss you most of all. Tonight, I'll see my third play of the week. Tomorrow, I'm seeing a dance performance. Within the next month, I'll be attending at least two concerts, ten plays, and a handful of gallery openings. How about a little local celebrity gossip? WPVI's Monica Malpass is being sued by her former fiance (auto-parts entrepreneur Stephen Thorne) because she won't give him back the engagement ring, even though she supposedly agreed to do so, and he has requested her to numerous times. The casinos are apparently sending attorneys and private investigators to harrass people who signed those anti-casino petitions. Smooth, guys. Smooth. If you follow Philly music, last spring you probably heard about a great alt-country band called One Star Hotel who broke up after opening for Wilco on a European tour. You may also have heard about how OSH’s front man and lyricist, Steve Yutzy-Burkey, started a new band with his wife Krista (keys & vox), former OSH bandmate Rick Sieber (bass), and Scott French (drums). You might have heard that the band was called......
