Today's featured Twitter user is @RedCrossPhilly. The Red Cross of Philadelphia is a part of the Southeastern Pennsylvania chapter of the Red Cross. They use their Twitter account to keep their followers informed about how they are trying to accomplish their mission in Philadelphia. It seems to consist primarily of assisting victims of house fires. Actually, their updates seem ripe for a mashup with Google Maps as a way to plot fire locations in Philadelphia.

Kiss Kiss bassist Pat happens to be the brother of my good friend and house-mate Chris and, while I have yet to see them perform live, Chris tells me it is an event that no one should miss. I heard the new album via ITunes and their music is fucking brilliant. They go from near-System of a Down intensity to sweeping, epic interludes and back again in minutes. It's the most original stuff you'll hear this year.
Someone has finally come along and hacked Google Maps so we can have a SEPTA Google Map. Granted, we're not ones to get lost going east and west on the Blue Line, or North and South on the Orange Line, but still, it's nice to open up a hacked map and see it dedicated to our fair city.
