It may seem kind of weird, but Girl Talk is a guy. A guy from Pittsburgh named Gregg Gillis. You can download his latest album, Feed the Animals, via a "pay what you want" plan on Illegal Art, or wait until October 21st and go to a store to pick up a hard copy. But we suggest you click on over and slap a little virtual money down for it right now, because it's pretty darn good. Sure, the concept is simple enough: a bunch of familiar music from the last couple of decades, mixed together to create insane new dance tracks. But Gillis does it mighty artfully, with a real ear for weird connections and powerful beats, and it's quite pleasant recognizing familiar bits of songs mixed up in unexpected and exciting new ways. Girl Talk's taking his lap top to a sold-out show tomorrow night at the Starlight Ballroom, with Hearts of Darknesses and Grand Buffet. It'll be the kick-off of a nationwide tour for Feed the Animals, and it promises to be a crazy dance party of epic proportions, so here's hoping you already have your tickets so you can check it out.

I mean, Radiohead, Underworld, The Roots, Girl Talk, and Animal Collective could all take the cake as a headliner, and you would have a great time.
