This week, Miss Bee is back at it with her picks. She made them based on the median inner-city bus driver wage for each metropolitan area. For New England she used Boston. These numbers are taken from Department of Labor surveys.
Sure, we have a bad rap for throwing snowballs at Santa, but do we deserve this title bestowed on us by The Daily Show with Jon Stewart? Phillyist wants to hear what you think!
Today's featured Twitter user is @bikeambassadors. Brought to us by the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia, they promote "accessible, safe and fun" biking in and around Philadelphia. Whether your pedals pump gas or turn wheels, they want you to be safe and smart on the roads of Philly. That means playing nice.
Today's featured Twitter user is @bitsandwatts. They're a unique, local outfit that essentially aggregates upcoming concert information for the Philly metro area and provides easy access to a few song samples from each artist. They use their Twitter account to keep in touch with users, supplement the event listings on their site, and discuss music with other Twitter users. Although it's part Upcoming.org, part MySpace Music, and part Hype Machine, Bits & Watts is more powerful than the sum of those and similar services. They rock an in-line music player, on-click, same-page listening, and a linear, easy-to-follow listing style that makes it easy to see who's coming and when, and find out if you're interested. From there you can buy tickets, map the venue, and access artist websites. We're always excited to see homegrown projects like Bits & Watts take off, so check them out!

It's the middle of April and all this rain is making us think Spring is still eight weeks away (thanks, Phil). But, it's not. Spring is here. And while Fall is actually still months away, grab your cheeseballs, 'cause the party is about to start.
If you care to extend the mourning process at all... this was posted yesterday on NBC10.com.
This is a strange story with many different implications, not the least of which is simple. It’s a situation in which nobody seems to be right. We’ll do our best to wade through this murky situation.

We love that people are writing their own fight songs.*
Most of the national hype about this weekend’s Conference Championship Games has been about the Steelers and the Ravens, and understandably so. There’s nothing like two division rivals meeting in the playoffs with a championship bid on the line. Think Yankees-Red Sox ALCS games or Flyers-Penguins Eastern Conference Finals. It’s simply the highest of high drama punctuated by vitriol and hatred built up over an entire regular season or, in some cases, whole generations.
You're all probably familiar with Miss Bee by now. She's a frequent commenter on Phillyist who heard our call for new writers and was quick to answer it, so we couldn't help but upgrade her posting privileges. Born in Philadelphia, Miss Bee has lived here most of her life, with a few quick hiatuses that we forgive her for. She likes Butterscotch Krimpets, is baffled by SEPTA behavior, and will be trying out for the Eagles Cheerleading squad for the sole purpose of "moral support" for a friend. Welcome, Jen!
It's preview time: Second Season Arts to be exact. And CP has calendars for you in Visual Art, Dance, Theater, Rock/Pop, Jazz, Roots and Classical/Opera.
“The Eagles probably won't win the Super Bowl, but there's no reason not to get pumped for the possibility and gather with friends and hot wings to cheer them on this Sunday.”
The best of the internet, chopped into tiny bits and grilled for your enjoyment.
...and we promise that we'll forget about that tie against the Cincinnati Bungles.
The Eagles defeated the New York Giants 23-11 to advance to next week's NFC Championship Game against the Arizona Cardinals. This will be the fifth NFC Championship Game appearance for Andy Reid and Donovan McNabb. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. next Sunday. Go Eagles!
