If there's something good coming out of Michael Vick being an Eagle, it's that we're seeing more coverage of Philadelphia's dogfighting problem. Complaints of dogfighting are up, but penalties for the crime are still lagging behind.
And if you just can't get enough Michael Vick drama, Stu Bykofsky has a rundown of yesterday's powwow amongst local animal rights groups and Joe Banner about this whole fiasco. And Byko joins the growing chorus of people calling for Vick and/or the Birds to start spreading some serious cash to local groups that work with and save Pit Bulls.
An East Germantown dogfighting ring was shut down yesterday. Three men were arrested in connection with the ring.
