Dan McQuade of Philadelphia Will Do (maybe you've seen us mention him) has been assigned the enviable task of getting paid (by Vanity Fair!) to watch television for the next two weeks—specifically, the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, which kick off tonight on various NBC networks. You can check out his blog, chronicling as much of the 3,600 hours of coverage as he can stand, right here.

Mr. Philadelphia Will Do himself, Dan McQuade, submitted this gem from Mayor Nutter's itinerary from last Friday. Surely, a mayor with a new plan for public education (PDF) should hire people who know the difference between "its" and "it's"!

(We're just not trying any more) Blog rockets in flight. Afternoon delight. Afternoon delight. (You know, because we're posting this in the afternoon) Anyways, here's your frolic through the Philadelphia blogosphere for the week:

We'd really like to write up a big piece on the Inquirer and Daily News buyouts that were announced today.

We like to go and cruise that Information Superhighway from time to time. And when we're not doing that, we like to get sucked into the big black hole that is the Philadelphia Blogosphere. Here's the good, the bad and the Eskin for Friday, September 9th.

Philadelphia Weekly has been stewing for months, wondering why they couldn't find the next Will Bunch. Or the next Dan Rubin. Or the next...Um, does City Paper have a blog?
