In a jumble of misunderstood credential arrangements, I arrived at the Popped! Philadelphia music festival last Saturday more or less as a spectator with a photo pass. Still riding the good vibes of their 2006 releases, Girl Talk and Dan Deacon come to town this evening for an R5 show at Club Polaris (AKA the Starlight Ballroom). Girl Talk -- stage name for Pittsburgh's Greg Gillis -- released, in this writer's opinion, the best album of 2006. Night Ripper took the mash-up to another level. Instead of pitting one song against another, Gillis' remixes replaced traditional musical notes with sample upon sample.......
