  • Apparently the Philadelphia Archdiocese is interested in healing, but not in dealing with any lawsuits. Maybe they feel they paid enough by witnessing the sorrow last week in Wynnewood, because now they're heading to federal court to ask a judge to dismiss a class action lawsuit filed by victims of sexual abuse at the hands of priests.

As silent cast interviews and behind-the-scenes footage played on a large screen in the main area, DJs played selections from bands featured on the soundtrack album (released by event organizers, Dancing Ferret), including: Dreamside, Qntal, and The Cruxshadows. By and large the music struck us as Medieval-inspired, but with a more modern, danceable sensibility. Or, as Phillyist Jim put it during one track, "That's some hardcore bagpiping."

    Well, we were going to tell you about Dracula's Ball, the regular Goth event that happens to occur on Hallowe'en every year (what a coincidence!), but then we had a bright idea: Why do all the work when we can have someone else tell you all about it? So we traded some emails with promoter Patrick Rodgers of Dancing Ferret, and he graciously agreed to answer some spoooooky questions.
