The best of the internet, squirted out in flavorful neon globules, just for you. CNN's electoral map calculator is a pretty interesting little web app. The default values show you CNN's estimate for how the race will turn out, but you can switch any state you want to either candidate and see how that swings things (via Kevin). In other election news, the Maverick family points out that John McCain is not a maverick, by......

Philebrity reminds us it's been 25 years since we saw Philly's favorite reporter, Jim O'Brien. The Philly Phight breaks down the Phillies Playoff possibilities. Philly Clout has the deets on Councilman Wilson Goode Jr. pulling a McCain media moment. SEPTA Watch likes the new SEPTA TV spots. This Phillyist agrees. But he still hates the bus. The Bicycle Chef takes us on a City Food Tour including two of this Phillyist's favorite food finds: DiBruno......

The shapeless dough of the internet, formed into tasty pellets and baked to perfection, just for you. At least some of the images included in Microsoft's "I'm a PC" ads appear to have been produced on a Mac. D'oh! The relatively new blog ThingsWithApproximatelyAsManyPeopleAsWasilla.com kind of explains itself. (Via Phillyist Contribute page) Defective Yeti has put out part one of his Halloween Gaming Guide. Woo hoo! Cinematical has what appear to be images of the......

A steaming hot pile of our favorite things from around the internets. The rumor that Tom Cruise might voice the villain in the fourth Shrek film is apparently false. (Via Jill) Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will be starring in the next Disney-ride-turned-film: Tomorrowland. Well, actually, Disney seems to be saying the movie is just a space-centric film and is not based on the Tomorrowland ride, but Variety says otherwise. *shrug* Deus Ex lead designer Harvey......

A tall, icy glass of our favorite internet junk, just for you. Looks like Paramount Pictures wants Sam Raimi to spearhead a revival of the Jack Ryan franchise. Clint Eastwood is going to direct and star in a film called Gran Torino. Details are being kept under wraps, but the rumor is the film might be a new entry in the Dirty Harry series. Feeling lucky, punk?! We're not a huge fan of the work......

The best of the internet, chopped into tiny bits and grilled for your enjoyment. Nerd World has published excepts from the tax fraud and conspiracy trial of Wesley Snipes. Don't worry, they're not real. But they are hilarious. An interesting concept gadget: the inflatable mouse. Joe Johnston is officially the new director on The Wolfman. With that job filled again, the movie should be able to keep on schedule Video of an immersive desktop VR......

What's new and/or interesting on TV this week. Life After People (Mon, 9PM-11PM, History Channel) - An interesting thought experiment: what would the Earth be like if human beings suddenly disappeared off of it? Of course, it's not all guesswork; they take a look at actual places that were abandoned by people and what happened in those cases. Moment of Truth (Wed, 9PM-10PM, Fox) - The debut of the new game show where contestants have......

What's new and/or interesting on TV this week. Paranormal State (Mon, 10PM-11PM, A&E) - The debut of a new reality show featuring members of Penn State University's Paranormal Research Society investigating reports of paranormal phenomena. During this hour, they seem to be playing two episodes, one about a boy who can supposedly see dead people, and another about a supposedly haunted house where murders were committed. Independent Lens (Tue, 10PM-11:30PM, WHYY) - It's another Penn......

The best of the internet, chopped into tiny bits and grilled for your enjoyment. Who knew there was an annual symposium for cocktail robotics? Apparently it's called Roboexotica, it's been around for nine years, it just happened again weekend before last, and Wired has the photos. (Via Jill) This past weekend an auction of items formerly belonging to Ozzy Osbourne and his family raked in a lot of cash, with all the proceeds going to......

Architecture in Helsinki (AIH) are shilling for Sprint. And we're totally okay with that. Now that we are TiVo-less, we have to watch commercials like everyone else. So it may not have been news to you, but we almost spit out our Blueberi and coke last night when we heard "Souvenirs" playing in the background of a Sprint spot. They've come far from when we last so them a year ago, and already they're......

What's new and/or interesting at Philly theaters this weekend. Ira & Abby - Ira is a brilliant, neurotic Jew with tons of "issues" (hmm... where have we heard of that character before?), and Abby is a free spirit who likes to solve her friends' problems. They meet, fall in love, meet each other's parents, and decide to get married, all in just a few hours. Then, of course, a series of wacky shenanigans make them......

The best of the internet, squirted out in flavorful neon globules, just for you. Sometimes, SNL reveals that they've really still got it. What's new and/or interesting on TV this week. Aliens in America (Mon, 8:30PM-9PM, The CW) - Here's an interesting show premise: a Pakistani Muslim exchange student named Raja comes to a Wisconsin town and is not exactly welcomed with open arms. In fact, in this first episode, his host family have to decide whether to send him back, as they weren't expecting a Muslim. We're betting they decide to keep him. He gets help adjusting......

By Bill Hayes and Pencopal This week, the Renegade Phillyists are feeling slightly less hateful, but just as snarky. Think of it as haterade lite. So instead of picking people off one by one, we've decided to taze them. Bill's To Taze List: 1) The people at Pitchfork. If you've heard of an album, they probably think it blows. Knox, facing tough opposition from the other candidates in ads and at a recent debate, decides to fight back with... more of the same! He just bought $400,000 worth of time for his TV commercials. The Kingsessing Recreation Center, site of an April 12 shooting, has long had, and continues to have, problems with drugs and violence. Residents don't feel the city is doing enough. Ugh. Milton Street is more of a fiasco than a real candidate, something of a sideshow in the political circus. He may even sideline Brady's chances! Oh the shame! So, to hell with politics. It's freaking warm again, and that means another miserable failure of an Eagles season is behind us (along with Jeff Garcia), and we can finally get back to the true American pastime. Phillyist is giddy like so many schoolgirls over watching......

The shapeless dough of the internet, formed into tasty pellets and baked to perfection, just for you. There are tons of follow-up articles on that mass murder down at the offices of Zigzag at the Naval Yard. The Daily News has a general article about the tragedy, as well as more on Zigzag and their clients, a timeline of the day's events, and profiles of the victims. The snow storm came to Philly, and it was worse than was originally expected! Many schools in the area yesterday dismissed students early and/or cancelled after-school events.
