The U.S. Supreme Court will soon hear arguments in two cases with local roots that will determine how harsh of penalties—including life imprisonment, without parole—can be imposed on juvenile offenders who commit violent crimes.
The Board of Revision of Taxes has increased property taxes for thousands of homes. Some of the increases reach 236 percent. "I'm not willing to...pay my share when other people are not paying theirs," said Barbara Benton, a resident whose property taxes will rise by 83%.
Governor Corzine outlined a $2 billion mass-transit plan that will connect much of South Jersey with Philadelphia. The plan will include service from Glassboro, Pitman, Mantua, Wenonah, Woodbury, Deptford, West Deptford, Westville, Bellmawr, Brooklawn and Gloucester City.
Long-time Democrat Rep. Joe Sestak is thinking of throwing his hat in the ring against Arlen Specter in the next Senate election.
Former Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge is eyeing the Senate sources say. Ridge would run against new Democrat Arlen Specter.

- Creative Steps rejected the Valley Club's offer to return to the swim club. Additionally, the summer day camp announced plans to sue the club.
- Barry Mescolotto has been caught double-dipping. Mescolotto, a member of the Board of Revision of Taxes, sent e-mails to SEPTA representatives conducting business in his side-venture which is selling train parts to the transportation authority.
