Yasha Butler's designs are, for lack of a better word, awesome. Ceramicist Butler is a Turkish transplant who has found a home, and a studio, in our great city (she also keeps a studio in Turkey!). She started out with simple, organic clay pots and bowls and has more recently delved into the world of jewelry. Her jewelry is absolutely fantastic. She, fittingly, calls it bone jewelry. Forget the sleekness of your Moleskine and the thriftiness of your 99¢ Hallmark gestures. Just when you thought stationery couldn't get any cuter… Nantaka Joy went ahead and raised the bar. Joy's Studies of Nature collection of cards and notebooks are printed from woodcut patterns and embossed with metallic foil. Very simple, but also very flashy.
