When we get press releases about bands we've never heard of, we'll occasionally contact our friends in their cities of origin to see if the bands are worth catching when they come through Philly. Chicago-based band OFFICE is one such band. We talked to a friend of ours who used to write for Chicagoist, and he told us that we had to, had to, had to, catch OFFICE, because they were bound to go places, and we needed to check them out before they got too big.

at Act 2, who said: “Acting is all about honesty. If you can fake that, you've got it made.” Now, on with the listings!

A steaming hot pile of our favorite things from around the internets.

The band Marah has been known to say things like, "Philly's just like any other place. Only 1000 times better." We couldn't agree more. Sure, the Bielanko brothers may have moved their rock ‘n’ roll band (Nick Hornby’s favorite) to New York, but they bring a Philly attitude wherever they go. Case in point: they’re headlining "A Night of Phidelity" at Brooklyn’s North Six bar. Phidelity features Philly bands Slo-Mo, The Shalitas, Adam & Dave's Bloodline, and Christine Smith. It just might be the best Philly show to never hit Philadelphia.
