Why? Because tonight we're going to Karaoke Obscura, a DIY karaoke event that happens the first Thursday of every month at 12 Steps Down (831 Christian St.). This isn't the run of the mill frat-tastic karaoke. It's indie style, with all of the songs you love but are never available. Check out the song list. A little TV on the Radio, a lot of the Smiths, some Pixies, and anything else you can think of. Personally, we are planning to get our friend hammered and make her sing "Decatur" in her best Sufjan.

With unseasonable weather descending upon much of North America, schools getting ready to reconvene, and sports seasons getting exciting, it's a busy time of year for us here in the Ist-A-Verse. Luckily, even with all the things we have to do, we still managed to get together to let you know what we've all been up to.

, which is what happened when we got an email from Amy Winehouse's spokesperson announcing that Amy Winehouse was cancelling her US tour due to 'exhaustion.'

When Patrick Wolf took the stage at the Electric Factory Saturday evening, I initially thought that some form of Satanic bird had been released in the building. It got dark. I heard chirping. And hooting. And then chirping and hooting mixed with a musical beat. And then the deafening roar of damn near everyone in the audience as Patrick Wolf and his band took the stage.

Despite recent accidental retirement rumors, Brit pop artist Patrick Wolf is very much still making music and very much opening for Amy Winehouse at the Electric Factory tonight.
