Students Amy Orr's Fiber Structures class at Moore College of Art and Design exercised their street sense today by installing crocheted "pole warmers" on fourteen of the city's old parking meters outside of the college and in front of the Franklin Institute. Yarn blitzing has become an increasingly popular form of colorful, yet easily-removable (unlike traditional graffiti) street art in Philadelphia lately—in fact we even featured a shot of one such installation as a Photoist selection back in April. These warm and fuzzy creations will remain in place throughout the winter, so if you get a chance, head down to the Parkway and take a look at what's on display.
