Twitterist: Philadelphia In 140 Characters Or Less

Twitterist - Philadelphia In 140 Characters Or LessIt's Tuesday afternoon and, although the workday is mercifully drawing to a close, it's probably safe to say that at least some of you could already use a beer. Maybe it's the switch from perfect long-weekend weather to today's gross-out, 90-degree sweatfest. Maybe it's that sneaking suspicion that your boss is going to give you a new project at 4:45 p.m. only to tell you he needs it by 9:00 a.m. tomorrow. Maybe you just really hate Mondays, and your biological clock is out of whack since you weren't truly able to hate yesterday, what with having the day off and all.

Or maybe (gasp!) you didn't have off yesterday.

There are plenty of reasons why today's Twitterist is @phillybeerscene. The official Twitter account of "the only magazine dedicated to the craft beer scene" in Philly, Philly Beer Scene, this one's worth a follow if you want to know about where to find deals on real beer all around the city. You can subscribe to the magazine and expect six issues for $20. It covers homebrew, microbrew, craft brew, and, well, you get the idea. If it's made in Philly, and the word "beer" is in the name, Philly Beer Scene is probably covering it.

They're in the midst of their final push for registrations for this year's Brews for Boobies. We hope you took our advice and checked out this charity bar crawl event last year. The third annual super-crawl will feature four different bar crawls (all in different sections of the city) and each crawl will include eight bars. Registration for the October 2nd event is $25, which gets you a t-shirt, drink and food deals at the bar stops, and makes you feel good—all proceeds go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

We're on Twitter, too—just follow @Phillyist. Because we often choose featured users from amongst our followers, following us is a good way to make sure that you or your organization is in the running. And if you're on Twitter and we haven't found you yet, leave a link to your profile in the comments!
