It's Earth Day. If you're like papaist, Earth Day makes you think of dirty hippies. Know what else probably makes you think of dirty hippies? The Philadelphia Folk Festival, which today announced its 2010 line-up.
Hippie or not, if the festival is your kind of scene (and it is ours), you'll be happy to know that this year's artists will include an acoustic set by Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy, as well as performances by Richard Thompson, The Subdudes, Erin McKeown, Vienna Teng, and others—with more artists sure to be added to the line-up soon!
Although the Folk Festival isn't until late August, it's not too early to get your tickets, which will range from $25 (kids' weekend pass) to $145 (three-day pass with camping). Plan ahead, and use the interim to get familiar with the complete catalogs of all 30-plus bands already slated to perform. You'll need at least four months to get through it all!
