The whole world is getting tattooed. Kat von D of LA Ink gets hugged in the mall, and even Helen Mirren sports ink. Close your eyes and hear the buzz, buzz and see the picture rise in your skin. You can project your passions, aesthetic ideals, or true obsession with the Muppets publicly and permanently.

This weekend, getting a new piece is just that much easier for us Brotherly Love types at the Philadelphia Tattoo Arts Convention. More than one hundred artists will be showing off their mastery and available for everything from backpieces to butterflies. Even if you're needle or commitment phobic, the people-watching will be fantastic as folks wander happily high from their post-tattoo buzz through the halls.

Almost as exciting as the plethora of tattooed bodies and tattoos-in-progress is the entertainment Villain Arts has lined up: The Enigma, he of the blue puzzle pieces; the Olde City Sideshow, the celebrators of Nikolai Tesla and blockheads, human suspension (avert your eyes if the sight of someone swinging through the air by hooks driven through flesh is too much); and the mandatory nightly burlesque show.
