We're in the midst of a time of year that is pretty much crap when it comes to movies being released; but thankfully, Philadelphia's got some pretty exciting musical acts coming to town. And one of the ones to get most excited about is Michael Franti & Spearhead (MySpace), who rocked our socks off a few months back as part of the Saturday Night Rebel Rockers tour. Franti and company will be at the Wachovia Center Sunday evening, opening for some creepy dude with a guitar. (Some Phillyists disagree with me on this characterization, but I'm stickin' by it.)
Franti's live show is a thing to behold—one that we think would be worth a hefty ticket price in and of itself. Tickets for Sunday night's show aren't cheap—and while this Phillyist certainly isn't a John Mayer fan, that has more to do with his persona than his music, and he reputedly puts on a fantastic live show—which Phillyist Leigh will be filling you in about soon. So if you find yourself heading to the Wachovia Center Sunday, do yourself a favor and get there early, in time for Franti—because no matter what John Mayer does, Franti will make sure your splurge is money well spent.
