This week's Philadelphia Weekly is sooo wasted.
In his feature about the puritanical nature of the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, Tom Cowell reports that PA will be the first state in the union to sell wine out of a vending machine. We're sure we speak for the entire commonwealth when we say that this is one dubious honor we're pleased to hold. Cowell also offers up suggestions of "civil disobedience" we can implement in order to bring down this bureaucracy.
Don't hate the BRT because they raise your property taxes. Hate them because they're ineffective and corrupt.
An expanded and fancified Vietnam Cafe is a warm addition to Baltimore Avenue in West Philly. Mahogany hoisin what?
Speaking of Vietnamese food, PW also has a "guide" to spring rolls to check out, but we use quotation marks because one-third of the restaurants reviewed in the "guide" have the same owner, concept and menu. Crack research indeed.
Even if Dim Sum Garden's spring rolls don't taste yummy, here's a meal at Kung Fu Necktie that will.
Apparently everyone's favorite George Michael does not rock this time around. And what's the deal with Mark Wahlberg? Bueller? Bueller?
It seems like everyone on the Philly media scene hates Joey Sweeney, but don't let that spite carry over to Blood Feathers, the first act signed to the Philebrity record label.
PW sees "Becky Shaw" as a diamond in the rough. Plus, there are cougars involved.
