As we mentioned last week, we went ahead about bought a November SEPTA transpass on the basis of reports that the SEPTA-Local 234 dispute would be resolved without a strike. Ummm, oops! So we forked over $78 for a pass that we couldn't use for a full week; ain't that a bitch? If you're in the same boat as us, fret not: SEPTA has posted the refund & exchange information for last week's weekly transpass and the November monthly transpass. If you have an unused November 2 weekly transpass, you can exchange it for another weekly transpass until the end of the year. If you have a November monthly pass, once this month is over, you can exchange that for $20 towards your next SEPTA purchase until February 10, 2010.

Take note, that if your pass was punched for using the regional rail (as they were doing at market east during rush hours - don't know about other stations), you will NOT be able to return your pass for credit, and SEPTA/TWU has screwed you (and me) yet again.
so, you USED your pass on another means of SEPTA transportation and you still want to get your money back?
Thanks for the tip, Aaron. Bastards get you every time with the fine print.
Also, if you get your transpass through an employer pre-tax dollars program, it looks like you have to mail the pass in...and wait up to six weeks for the refund. Just another way SEPTA could annoy you...
Or in my case I buy a zone 1 trailpass so that I can take the R3 from my place in the event I get advance warning from a friend that the trolleys are backed up. I do this maybe once a month.
But since a trailpass is "Used primarily on Regional Rail which was not effected by the strike" I will get nothing back even though my trailpass usage is normally %99 trolley and EL and most R3s didn't even bother to try and stop at 49th Street during the morning rush due to being full.
