- Three hikers, including Alex Fattal of Elkins Park, have been charged with espionage by Iran in connection with inadvertently crossing the Iran/Iraq border. We previously mentioned candlelight vigil held for the three hikers in late September.
- The U.S. Supreme Court will soon hear arguments in two cases with local roots that will determine how harsh of penalties—including life imprisonment, without parole—can be imposed on juvenile offenders who commit violent crimes.
- How is Mayor Nutter doing at the halfway point of his term? He has plenty of unfinished business.
- City Solicitor Shelley Smith is accusing the Board of Revision of Taxes of "clearly" violating the Sunshine Act. City officials have asked the board to right the wrong by calling a public meeting and acting in accordance with the law. Nothing has happened since his request.
- Do you want free SEPTA tokens? How about some courtesy parking meter payments? The folks from Stovetop (yes, the stuffing makers) will be giving out tokens and replenishing parking kiosks tomorrow from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at 15th and Market Streets.
