- Here's a new one: Man claims he was too fat to have murdered. Edward Yates alleges that he was too fat to have climbed the stairs necessary to have murdered his son-in-law.
- Pat's King of Steaks has been breaking the law for more than 20 years. The cheesesteak giant never had a cafe license to allow outdoor seating, trash cans, and signs. Frank DiCicco is hoping to resolve the issue with legislation. Geno's does not seem to be doing anything illegal other than assualting your eyes with superfluous flourescent lighting.
- The three
young menbastards who jumped and beat Sean Patrick Conroy to death were sentenced to 12 1/2 to 25 years in prison. "I'm disappointed. I don't think anybody left there happy today. As a parent, we were hoping for the maximum. Realistically, at least something equal to Sean's life expectancy," Sharon Conroy, the victim's mother, said. - Nothing has come out of the negotiations between SEPTA and the Transport Workers Union Local 234. The two sides have spent more than 35 hours negotiating issues with wage, health-care and pension issues.
- No dice for the Phillies last night. A.J. Burnett tossed a gem through seven innings of work. Pedro Martinez held his own, giving up three earned runs across six innings. It's now a 5 game series as it moves to Philadelphia.

I find it all too amusing that the "man too fat to have murdered" story and the Pat's story are paired together. It's just too easy sometimes...
It now looks like Geno's outdoor seat may likewise be illegal. Shocking.
