Phillyist Playlist: Mike Doughty at the Sellersville Theater

This Friday, October 30th, Phillyist is psyched to announce that Mike Doughty (MySpace) is coming back to Philly. Celebrating the release of his third solo album, Sad Man, Happy Man, (it dropped October 6th on ATO Records), Doughty is bringing his simple and addictive pop to the Sellersville Theater. What can you expect from the former Soul Coughing leading man?

Lots of "na-na-na"s and the addictive poppy sound that makes Doughty a great live performer.

With the new album, a work Doughty is calling "a reaction to [his] fans' reaction," he's giving the people what they want this time around. With sparse instrumentation and simple choruses, Doughty is headed back to witty song writing and acoustic roots and wraps you up in a big warm blanket of awesome, inspiring you to come along for the ride. Catch up with all the latest "Doughty happenings" with his blog and make sure to catch the show this Friday at the Sellersville Theater.
