- Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi will be at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital this morning to speak about health insurance.
- If there's something good coming out of Michael Vick being an Eagle, it's that we're seeing more coverage of Philadelphia's dogfighting problem. Complaints of dogfighting are up, but penalties for the crime are still lagging behind.
- Two men in West Philly made the mistake of trying to rob an off-duty police officer last night. One ended up dead for his efforts after the officer shot him. Police are searching for the second suspect.
- An illegal drag race in North Philadelphia ended abruptly when one driver flipped his car and hit the median on Woodhaven Road. The driver was treated for minor injuries. The opposing driver (who we presume was the de facto winner) simply drove away and left the flipped car behind.
- Last night's shootings included one at Pulaski Playground in Chester that left one dead and four injured. Two people were killed in a shooting in the Logan section of North Philly. And gunfire broke out near a bar in Oxford; three people were wounded, but none killed, in that shooting.
- We'd like to think that if we'd been busted for DUI four times, we would, y'know, stop driving under in the influence. We're not sayin', we're just sayin'...
- Drew Brees torched the Eagles for 311 yards and three TDs passing as the Saints hammered the Birds, 48-22. Kevin Kolb threw for 391 yards, two TDs, and three interceptions in the loss.
